Chicken Awadhi Recipe
To make Chicken Awadhi
1) Take 8-10 cashew, 8-10 almonds, 1 table spoon chironji, 1 table spoon poppy seeds, one table spoon Melon seeds and some milk. Grind this to a fine paste. (Proportion should be for about 1/2 cup paste.)
2) Grind 1 cup fried onion with 1/3 cup of curd, keep paste aside.
3) Soak some strands of saffron in water.
4) Marination
a. Marinate 800 gms chicken with salt , turmeric, red chili powder and 1/4 cup yogurt
b. Rub nicely on the chicken pieces and leave it for 30 mins
5) In a pan, add 2 tbsp ghee.
6) Add 1 raw onion paste , 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste , sauté for 2 mins
7) then add the marinated chicken and cook for 10 mins
8) add 3 tbsp Kardemome Awadhi masala, mix well
9) then add the paste of nuts and seeds as made in step 1
10) then add the onion and curd paste (as made in step 2)
11) add 1/2 cup hot water and salt to taste
12) cover n cook until chicken is nicely cooked
13) add the soaked saffron water and 1 tbsp butter… Serve hot.
